Welcome to Finton Hollow

The year 1969 looks differently in Finton Hollow.  In this world, the sounds of cars are absent and replaced by the rhythmic clack of horses hooves and the soft jingle of their harness bells.

This sleepy little town sits by the ocean and it's residents work as farmers, fishermen, local shop keepers as well as in city, state and private business jobs.

In this world, the old ways are still honored. The people here are in tune with the land, but they are not ones who embrace the idea of sorcerers, or as they are called in Finton Hollow: Karcists.  That sort of power has always lead to wars of one sort or another.  The Craft, as it is practiced in Finton Hollow, is a communion with the energies of the land, not a dominance of it.  

The government had had enough of the karcists back in 1860.  The karcists had been fighting among themselves over items of magick.  Innocent people were being killed, or worse- used,  in these battles at an alarming rates.  In 1860, one battle erupted during the festival days and several children were killed or taken in the crossfire of vicious spells. So that very year,  the government began a systematic extermination of the karcists  and a campaign to collect all of the magickal artifacts in their possession, including their children.

But the government was not successful in it's extermination of magic and of karcists.  In the end, enough of them escaped to continue the line. They learned to hide themselves in the public, but the laws of the land still outlaw magick not authorized by the government...
